Summit News! Upcoming Events

Hello Summit Church family,
I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for all your prayers and support during the homegoing of my mother. I appreciate that so many of you prayed for her and all our family during this difficult time. She fought a long hard fight with cancer and was strong until the end. She always told us that life is short, but heaven is forever. I believe that heaven is getting sweeter all the time. I am looking forward to seeing her and other great saints someday.
I appreciate Pastor Bobby so much, and all the other staff for keeping things going at the Summit while I have been away. We have all been blessed by Pastor Bobby’s messages out of the book of Isaiah. I am looking forward to seeing and fellowshipping with everyone soon. Starting January 5th, we will be starting our Wednesday evening programming again. We are planning on having a meal and ministries for all ages. Pastor Wayne Keevan will be leading an exciting and relevant Bible Study for the adults each Wednesday evening. This will be an opportunity for the church to have more community and fellowship together. Invite some friends to come hear God’s Word! – Pastor Terry Fox

How To Get To Heaven

What do you have to do to go to heaven?

A  Admit – Admit to God that you are a sinner. Unless you are perfect, you cannot get to heaven on your own merit.

Jesus said, “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:48

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23

Another place the Bible talks about it being a gift is in this verse:

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2: 8-9

What do you have to do to accept the gift?

B Believe – Believe Jesus is God’s Son, that he died on the cross to pay for your sins, and that he was raised from the dead on the third day.  We must be willing to accept God’s gift of eternal life.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

“Nor is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men,  by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

“You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” James 2:19

It is not enough just to believe in Jesus with your head, you must let Him be the Lord of your life and give Him your heart.

C Choose and Confess – Surrender to God to let Him be in charge of every part of your life.  When you ask Jesus into your heart, you are saying you are willing to follow Him and obey God’s Word, the Bible. Will you choose to confess your sins and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you and be your Savior and Lord?

“For whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1: 9

If you sincerely pray this prayer of salvation, you will go to heaven.

Dear God, I know I am not perfect, and that I have sinned. Please forgive me of my sins. I know I cannot get into heaven on my own efforts. Thank you for sending your Son, Jesus, to die on the cross to pay the price for my sin, and to make it possible for me to go to heaven. I believe He was raised from the dead on the third day. Come into my heart, and save me. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. Take me to heaven some day when I die. I want you to be in charge of every area of my life. Help me to live for you because you died for me. Amen

Congratulations! Please let us know if you prayed this prayer. We are here for you!
